About the bath
Pavel Banya has been known for its warm healing waters since ancient times, as the many finds from archaeological excavations show. There were Turkish baths here even before the Liberation, and later two new medical baths were built; unfortunately they have been demolished. Construction of the balneo-sanatorium building began in 1931: it is a two-level building with various sections for therapies and rooms for treatments and procedures. Under socialism Pavel Banya was developed as a resort and became very popular. The mineral bath, part of the complex, is closed because of a shortage of water and poor conditions.
