About the bath
A magnificent building designed in the spirit of modernism and probably built in the late 1970s as a classic bath with a men's and a women's section.
After many years of decay, the renovated bath in Yakoruda reopened to visitors in August 2022. The renovation was funded by the Interreg Greece–Bulgaria cross-border cooperation programme.
Special attention has been paid to the grounds in front of the bath, with greenery, flower beds, paths and a large car park.
The changing rooms have new lockers and separate cubicles with seating.
The bath is kept very clean and the water in the plunge pools is crystal clear. The bathing halls have more than 10 cubicles with showers and stone basins (kurni). Bowls are provided.
You can combine a ride on the Rhodope narrow-gauge railway with a visit to the bath: since last year there has been a “Yakorudski Mineralni Bani” stop within walking distance of the bath building.
It is also easy to get there by car, with plenty of parking.
The bath staff are very friendly and help with directions and information.

The mineral water in Yakoruda is hyperthermal (42 degrees), low in minerals, sulphate–hydrocarbonate sodium water with a high concentration of fluoride (14–15 mg/l). It has a beneficial effect on gastrointestinal, kidney and skin conditions, and on diseases of the musculoskeletal and nervous systems.
