About the bath
An imposing and impressive building, an example of architectural modernism. It was built in 1939, in the time of Tsar Boris III, and still works all year round. Through a spacious foyer visitors reach the men's and women's sections. At present only one section works, with men and women taking turns by the hour. The second floor has various services such as massages and bathtubs. The facilities are quite worn. The central bath has preserved and restored the room where Tsar Boris III bathed – “the Royal Bath”. It is in the west wing of the Central Healing Bath and works all year round as a special balneotherapy attraction, with a pool, two showers, a bathtub, a stone basin (kurna) and even a royal bedroom for rest and relaxation. A visit there costs extra, on request (50 BGN).
