Na Baniamineral baths of Bulgaria БГ

About the bath

There have been baths here since Roman times, as many remains of walls and other architectural elements show. In Turkish times there was a bath, but it was demolished after the Liberation. In the 1920s a new, modern two-storey mineral bath was built with state funds. The bath worked until 2005, when it was closed and completely rebuilt; the classic layout with men's and women's sections was destroyed.
Sapareva Banya Municipality has leased it under a 30-year concession.
The bath now works as a spa centre but has kept its old name – the Town Mineral Bath.
The new mineral water bathing hall is on the ground floor, with 22 cubicles, bathtubs for individual use and 3 pools – one large and two small, at different temperatures.
Besides its main hygiene function, the bath is also meant to treat diseases of the musculoskeletal system, the peripheral nervous system and the skin (psoriasis).
The first floor has a spa centre with:
- two saunas – one at 65 °C, the other at 95 °C;
- a steam bath, with steam at 40–50 °C;
- an aquarelax room – an aroma system diffuses scents of pine, lavender, mint and others, while quiet, gentle music adds to the feeling of comfort and relaxation against fatigue and stress;
- a room with heated loungers
- a room with small foot baths at different temperatures;
- rooms with two jacuzzis;
- 2 rooms for thalasso and aromatherapy;
- a massage room;
- a doctor's office
- a hairdresser's and manicure room;
- a room for cosmetic treatments, tattoos and more.
