About the bath
The building is an example of Bulgarian architectural modernism from the 1920s–1940s (without protected status). An old, outdated concession procedure for the site from 2019 is being relaunched, with conditions that are hard to meet. The municipality expects the investor to build a hotel and a spa centre. According to the newspaper “Troyan Express”, the deadline for applying and submitting offers is ONE MONTH and expires on 30 April 2024 (the information here was posted on 16.04.2024). That deadline is too short for applicants to manage – unless there is a ready project for which the procedure is being run. The previous concession attracted no applicants, which is entirely understandable under such conditions.
