About the bath
Pchelinski Bani is a resort village – a balneological resort of national importance. The bath is a solid single-storey building, built as a public bath with one section that worked as a men's and a women's bath on different days. Around the bath there used to be a beautiful park and a gazebo for resting, but everything is abandoned and neglected. The bath was open to visitors until the end of the 1990s, when it closed and was left to fall into ruin.
“This is the only bath that heats itself, through coils carrying the mineral water. The bath was built in 1911,” says the former mayor G. Georgiev. “150 people a day used to come here, and they charged 1.50 leva per person for entry. Behind the doors there is a 5 by 5 metre pool and 9 basins in all,” G. Georgiev added to the newspaper Standart in an article of 04.03.2015.
In 2001 the bath was transferred from the assets of the Sanatorium and Resort Administration (Central Administration) of the Ministry of Health to its legal successor, the newly created joint-stock company “Specialised Hospitals for Rehabilitation – National Complex” EAD.
