About the bath
A large, solid building with impressive architecture, an example of architectural modernism, in the centre of the town. The “Yambol” mineral bath building was declared an immovable cultural monument in 1975.
Before the present building was put up there was an old mineral bath from the Ottoman period. It was demolished, but part of its structure was kept and used for a pavilion for filling bottles, built a few years before the bath building itself. The drum of its dome has a band of coloured glass.
The flow of the mineral water that fed the bath fell and has now dried up completely.
That part of the building was restored years ago. Repairs are under way on the bath's façade, but there is no funding for the whole building, and in 2022 a fundraising campaign for its renovation was announced.
