Na Baniamineral baths of Bulgaria БГ

About Na Bania

Na Bania is a free guide to the public mineral baths of Bulgaria — the town and village baths where anyone can walk in, pay a few leva and soak in hot spring water.

Why we made it

Bulgaria has more mineral springs than almost any country in Europe, and for a century every spa town and many villages had a public bath. Today some are renovated and busy, others are run by volunteers, and many stand closed. Finding out which one is open today, when the women's and men's hours are, how hot the water is and how to get there usually means calling around or asking on Facebook. We wanted one place that answers those questions.

Where the information comes from and how we keep it current

The first list of baths, their photos and their basic data come from the register of the Bulgarian Association for Thermal Heritage, which documents the country's bath heritage. On top of that we write our own: every bath page has a summary and a retelling of its history and water in our words, the opening hours are turned into a table the site understands, and the water's temperature and uses are pulled out into short facts.

The site checks the register for changes every night. Corrections come from us and from visitors — every page has a “Report a mistake” button, and each one is checked by hand. A bath's page shows when its data was last updated.

The information is for guidance. Hours and prices change, especially out of season — call before a long trip. What we write about the water's healing properties is general; talk to a doctor before treatment with mineral water.

Who we are

Na Bania is made by a small independent team of people who love Bulgaria's baths. The site is run by NaBania.com. We are not linked to any bath, municipality or company, and no bath pays to be listed or for its rating. The site is free and is kept going by advertising.
